NTA Delhi University Library Assistant Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The following shall be the scheme of examination for recruiting Library Assistant in Delhi University by National Testing Agency, components of written test and its syllabus for the post of Library Assistant –

An Objective Type exam for 300 marks in 120 minutes on Library Aptitude and Awareness and Paper II Library Automation & library Awarenes for 150 marks in three hours

Paper I – (MCQ Type)
Subject wise marks and no. of questions –
Library Aptitude – 50 questions for 100 marks
General Awareness – 25 questions for 50 marks
Reasoning Ability – 25 questions for 50 marks
Mathematical Ability – 25 questions for 50 marks
Test of Language English or Hindi – 25 questions for 50 marks

Detailed syllabus for Library Assistant post in Delhi University –
(1) Library Aptitude – Questions will be designed to test the knowledge and awareness on Library Information Science and recent development in the field of Library Science. The questions may be from all the spheres of library science.
(2) General Awareness
(3) Reasonng Ability
(4) Mathematical Ability
(5) Test of Language English or Hindi

Paper II – Library Automation and Library Awareness –
The questions will be desiged to test the ability of the candidate’s knowledge and awareness on Library and Information Science and recent development in the field and on the following subjects –
Syllabus – Knowledge and application of Library and Information Science Proedures, rules and Regulations.
Knowledge of Computers with special reference to knowledge of Library Software Packages of Word Processing, Data Analysis Packages.
In paper II Section I MCQ type containing 50 questions for total 100 marks and
In Section II – 5 Descriptive Questions for 50 marks.
