NPCIL Fireman/ Driver Cum Pump Operator Selection Process

NPCIL Fireman/ Driver Cum Pump Operator Physical Test Requirement Details –
A- Physical Standard Test, Physical Assessment Test and Driving Test shall be conducted first. Those who clear these test may be allowed to appear for the Stage I Preliminary Test and Stage 2 Advance Test.

Details of the Test – Should be able to run 100 meters
within 25 seconds for upto 40 years age
within 28 seconds for between 40 to 45 years age
within 30 seconds for between 45 to 50 years age

Details of the Test – Should able to lay 4 length of hosses each 15 meters long from the appliance
upto 40 years age –
3 minutes
Up to 3 min – 10 marks
Between 3 to 4 min – 8 marks
Between 4 to 5 min – 6 marks
More than 5 min – No marks

Between 40 to 45 years age –
4 minutes
Up to 4 min – 10 marks
Between 4 to 5 min – 8 marks
Between 5 to 6 min – 6 marks
More than 6 min – No marks

Between 45 to 50 years age –
5 minutes
Up to 5 min – 10 marks
Between 5 to 6 min – 8 marks
Between 6 to 7 min – 6 marks
More than 7 min – No marks

Test Details – Should be able to climb on extension ladder of 10 meters long and come down twice in
upto 40 years age –
2 minutes
Up to 2 min – 10 marks
Between 2 to 3 min – 8 marks
Between 3 to 4 min – 6 marks
More than 4 min – No marks

Between 40 to 45 years age –
3 minutes
Up to 3 min – 10 marks
Between 3 to 4 min – 8 marks
Between 4 to 5 min – 6 marks
More than 5 min – No marks

Between 45 to 50 years age –
4 minutes
Up to 4 min – 10 marks
Between 4 to 5 min – 8 marks
Between 5 to 6 min – 6 marks

Test Details – Should be able to carry a person of approximately his own weight by the Fireman’s Lift Method over 25 meters
upto 40 years age –
3 minutes

More than 5 min – No marks

Between 40 to 45 years age –
4 minutes
Up to 4 min – 10 marks

Test Details – Should be able to do push ups
upto 40 years age –
20 continuously – 10 marks

Between 40 to 45 years age –
15 continuously – 10 marks

Between 45 to 50 years age –
12 continuously – 10 marks

Test Details – Should be able to run 1.6 km in
upto 40 years age –
10 minutes
Up to 10 min – 10 marks
Between 10 to 11 min – 8 marks
Between 11 to 12 min – 6 marks
More than 12 min – No marks

Between 40 to 45 years age –
12 minutes
Up to 12 min – 10 marks
Between 12 to 13 min – 8 marks
Between 13 to 14 min – 6 marks
More than 14 min – No marks

Between 45 to 50 years age –
14 minutes
Up to 14 min – 10 marks
Between 14 to 15 min – 8 marks

Test Details – Rope/ vertical pipe climbing
upto 40 years age –
3 meters – 10 marks
Between 2.5 to 3 meters – 8 marks
Between 2 to 2.5 meters – 6 marks
Below 2 meters – No marks

Between 40 to 45 years age –
Not applicable

Between 45 to 50 yeameterrs age –
Not Applicable

B- Driving Test (Qualifying in Nature)

C – Written Examination / Computer Based Test –
NPCIL Fireman/ Driver Cum Pump Operator Exam Pattern –
Preliminary Test – 0ne Hour Duration
It will be a screening examination to be held to shortlist candidates. The format of the screening examination shall be common for all posts and will be in following format
1. Examination will consist of 50 Multiple choice questions of one hour duration in the following proportion –
Mathematics – 20 questions
Science – 20 questions
General Awareness – 10 questions
Three marks to be awarded for each correct answer and o1 mark to be deducted for each incorrect answer.

2. Advance Test – 02 hours duration
The test will comprise 50 multiple choice questions related to thier qualifying academic/ professional/ technical qualification.
