Nuclear Power Corporation Stipendiary Trainees/ Technician Exam Pattern

The selection process consists of tests in three stages (Stage 1 & 2 -Written Tests and Stage 3- Trade/ Skill Test). There will be negative marking in the Written Tests for incorrect answers.

Preliminary Test – It will be a Screening examination to be held to shortlist candidates for 2nd stage test. The format of the screening examination shall be common for all disciplines and will be in the following format
(1) Examination will comprise 50 Multiple choice questions of one hour duration consisting of Mathematics, Science and General Awareness.
(2) Three marks will be awarded for each correct answer and on1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
(3) The qualifying standards shall be as follows – General category (UR) – 40% marks , SC/OBC- 30%

Advance Test –
(1) All qualified candidates in stage 1 have to undergo for an advanced test in their respective discipline.
(2) The test will be of two hours duration
(3) The level of questions for Operator Trainee, will be based on the syllabus in H.Sc or ISC and for other category based on SSC + ITI, the same will be in their respective ITI trade.
(4) The test will be comprise 50 multiple choice questions with three marks to be awarded for each correct answer and one mark to be deducted for each incorrect answer.
(5) The qualifying standards shall be as follows – General Category UUR) 30% marks, SC/OBC-20% marks.

Skill Test – Only for those candidates who have cleared the stage 2 test (Advance test) and will be on/ no-go basis. Based upon the merit list prepared after stage 2, candidates in each trade to be shortlisted for skill test.
