Educational Qualification required to Join in DRDO INMAS-
Research Associate – Life Sciences
Essential Qualification- PhD in Life Sciences/ Biotechnology / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Molecular Biology
Desirable Experience- Experience in Cell Cultures Molecular Biology, Techniques including RT-PCR & cloning. Cellular Imaging. Pre-clinical studies, Microbial Techniques, Biochemical Techniques. Experience in LC-MS / Lipidomics / metabolomics. Validation / identification of markers (lipid / metabolite / enzyme based).
Research Associate – Chemistry
Essential Qualification- PhD in Material Science / Chemistry / Chemical Science
Desirable Experience- Nanomaterials for biomedical & defence applications, polymer/ biomaterial/ composite material development, analytical/ spectroscopy/ microscopy techniques & instrumentation.
Research Associate – Pharmaceutical Sciences
Essential Qualification- Ph.D. in / Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Pharmaceutical Sciences / Pharmaceutics / Pharmacology/ Medicinal Chemistry / Pharmacy or allied disciplines.
Desirable Experience- Candidates with following research experience will be given preference- – Experience in Screening, characterization, processes & development of formulations.
Junior Research Fellow-( DRDO fellowship) – Life Sciences
Essential Qualification- First Class M.Sc. in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Molecular Biology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Biomedical Sciences with NET (JRF/LS) qualification from any recognized National Agency. OR First Class B.Tech. in Biotechnology / Biomedical Sciences / Biomedical Engineering with a valid GATE score. OR First Class M.E./M.Tech. in Biotechnology / Biomedical Sciences / Biomedical Engineering at both Graduate and Post Graduate levels. (NET/GATE exempted as per applicable guidelines.)
Junior Research Fellow-( DRDO fellowship) – Chemistry
Essential Qualification- First Class M.Sc. in Chemistry / Nanotechnology / Chemical Sciences / Computational Chemistry / Polymer Sciences/ Material Sciences with NET (JRF/LS) qualification from any approved National agency Or First Class B.Tech with valid GATE score in Chemical Engineering Or M.E./M.Tech in Chemical Engineering in First Class at Graduate and Post Graduate level (M.E./ M.Tech. is exempted from NET/GATE as per guidelines.)
Junior Research Fellow-( DRDO fellowship) – Pharmaceutics
Essential Qualification- First Class M.Pharm. / M.S. (Pharm.) / M.Tech. (Pharm.) in Pharmaceutics / Pharmaceutical Sciences / Pharmacology / Pharmacology & Toxicology / Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Medicinal Chemistry with NET/GPAT qualification from any approved National Agency.
Junior Research Fellow-( DRDO fellowship) – Dental Sciences
Essential Qualification- First Class in Bachelor in Dental Science (BDS) from a recognized university/institution. Candidates must possess valid registration with the Dental Council of India (DCI) / State Dental Council.
Age Limits As on 30.06.2026-
Research Associate – Maximum of 35 years
Junior Research Fellow – Maximum of 28 years
Age Relaxation – As per government Norms.
Pay Scale for DRDO INMAS-
Research Associate – Rs.67,000/- plus HRA
Junior Research Fellow – Rs.37,000/- plus HRA

After ensuring all the eligibility conditions, Application form can be downloaded from the website www.drdo.gov.in
NET/GATE/GPAT qualification where ever prescribed, and certificates of OBC/SC/ST should be valid as on the closing date of receipt of application.
The candidate should send scanned copy of duly filled signed application form (Typed, not Handwritten) along with supporting documents ( educational qualification, matriculation certificate in support of date of birth, GATE/NET score card valid as on closing date of application, caste certificate, if applicable) to research-academic@gov.in
