Syllabus for Preliminary and Main Written Test-

1. Arithmetic- 10%
   (i) Ratio and proportion.
   (ii) Arithmetic progression and geometric progression.
   (iii) Permutation and combination.
   (iv) Logarithm and exponential series.
   (v) Complex numbers.
2. General English- 10%
   (i) Parts of speech.
   (ii) Types of sentences.
   (iii) Numbers, genders, persons, tenses, articles and degrees.
   (iv) Direct speech and indirect speech.
   (v) Active voice and passive voice.
3. Work-related topics- 80%
   (i) Linear Algebra, Calculus, Differential equations, Analysis of complex variables, Probability and
   Statistics, Numerical Methods
   (ii) Electrical Circuits,
   (iii) Signals and Systems
   (iv) Control Systems, Feedback principles, signal flow graphs, transient response, steady-state-errors,
   Bode plot, phase and gain margins, Routh and Nyquist criteria, root loci, design of lead, lag and
   lead-lag compensators, time-delay systems; P, P-I, P-I-D, cascade, feedforward, and ratio
   controllers.
   (v) Analog Electronics, Digital Electronics
   (vi) Measurements, Sensors and Industrial Instrumentation
   (vii) Communication and Optical Instrumentation
   (viii) State space representation, controllability, observability, state feedback control, poleplacement.
   Syllabus for Skill Test (Any or some of the below)-
   (i) Working knowledge of MATLAB, Mathematica,
   (ii) Understanding and configuring hardware drivers.
   (iii) Programming skills
   (iv) based on the candidate’s experience.
   (v) Based on technical application on “work related topics” mentioned above in section (3) of “Syllabus
   for Preliminary and Main Written Test”
